Horary chart examples: real cases, with the full reports
Most pages of horary chart examples online show you a chart and a reading. What they rarely show is the part that matters: what happened next. The case below is published in full, written up in the format the School of Traditional Astrology requires for its diploma, and it ends with a verified outcome.

A 42-year-old woman wrote in early February 2021 with no context and no personal details: just the question. That ruled out one of the usual checks, comparing the horary chart against the natal to see whether the question is well rooted. María took the other route: if the chart describes the querent and her situation precisely, it is answering.
The querent was signified by Mars in Taurus, in detriment and peregrine, at the end of its cycle: someone no longer young, without the resources to reach what she wants on her own. The possibility of pregnancy is read from the 5th house, which fell in Leo, a barren sign, ruled by a Sun in Aquarius, in detriment. Between Mars and the Sun there was a separating square: the connection between the querent and the pregnancy existed, but it was coming apart going forward.
There was one more detail that could not be set aside. Mars was in exact aspect to Mercury, ruler of the 6th house of illness, and Mercury was combust, burnt by the Sun, which is to say invisible or not yet diagnosed. Saturn, partile conjunct the Moon, describes dry, hard things. María wrote that it would be worth checking for a physical problem, perhaps a lump.
The reply came on 10 February:
"This may sound strange, but right now I have an infection in the perineum, which is very odd because the blood tests show nothing out of place. I am reading your answer minutes after leaving the doctor's office, and he has just confirmed that on top of the infection I have a cyst."
The judgment was that a natural pregnancy during 2021 was unlikely, and that only a treatment could change it: the Moon was translating light from Saturn, ruler of the 10th house of treatments, to Venus and Jupiter, the two planets of fertility. In August the querent wrote again. Both fertility workups had come back clear, she had a small uterine polyp, and a fertility treatment had been recommended that the couple were not comfortable with. They decided to wait.

Before anything else: how the question has to be worded
Every case below started from a question tight enough to judge. A vague one produces a chart that is perfectly drawn and completely unreadable.
The more specific the question, the more precise the answer. If you do not know how to word it, we help you adjust it before the chart is cast.
What this example shows
One concrete question, a pregnancy, and the procedure that runs underneath every horary chart.
- The chart is cast for the moment the astrologer understands the question, not for the querent's birth. No birth time is needed.
- Everything is assigned a significator before anything is judged. The querent from the Ascendant and its ruler; the thing asked about from its own house; other people from derived houses.
- Dignity and house placement say how much power each party has. A ruler in detriment, peregrine or cadent describes someone without the means to bring the matter about.
- The Moon carries the story forward. Its next aspects, in order, describe how the matter unfolds, and their distance in degrees gives the timing.
- The answer is falsifiable. Each of these three was written down before the outcome was known, and then checked against it.
